Artisan Pastas

DescriptionArtisan pasta Italian pasta lover!  Made in Italy's Abruzzo regions the old fashioned way through bronze extrusion dies and air dried for 40 to 60 hours.  This allows your pasta to be rougher (better to hold your sauce) and cook up plumper.  Tastier than fresh.

Here are a few examples of what you will find at our Appleton, Wisconsin store and also in our online store

Bucatini is a thick spaghetti-like pasta with a hole running through the center. The name comes from buco, meaning "hole" in Italian.

Capellini Pasta - a very thin variety of Italian pasta. Like spaghetti, it is rod-shaped, in the form of long strands.

Penne Pasta - is traditionally cooked to al dente and served with pasta sauces such as pesto. Penne is a popular ingredient in pasta salads.

Rigatoncini Pasta - A somewhat skinnier, smaller version of rigatoni.

Torchio Pasta - Pasta that is made into a shape that appears similar to the base of a torch.

Whole Wheat Penne Rigate - The Italian word penne actually means pens or feathers (from which quill - type pens were once made) and rigate means ridged. The ridged and pointed tubular shape of penne pasta is great to carry thicker sauces.
